Latest News - Team Peers fighters triumph! Rich Conisbee wins British title and Andy Newman beats a top fighter on the same night!
On Saturday October 17th Rich Conisbee (29) black belt 1st Dan won his challenge for the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) British light heavyweight title.
His opponent, Callum Thompson was fighting for UFBDA (United Freestyle Black Dragons Association).
Rich got off to a good start and knocked the champ down twice in the first round.
The fight went the distance of 5 x 2 minute rounds and Rich was awarded the victory on points.
Andy Newman (22) blue belt fought Rob Rayman, an instructor and top fighter for BCCA (Black Country Combat Association).
The fight was described as fight of the night.
It lasted 3 x 2 minutes and Andy was deemed the winner on points.
The tournament is regulated by the World Kickboxing Association and included a full size boxing ring, a qualified centre referee and three side judges.
There was an audience of around 400 people including 40 of the Team Peers fighters' friends, family and fellow students. Thanks to all Brackley supporters.
